In God’s school, you never fail. You just get to keep taking the same tests over and over until you pass it. – Joyce Meyer
Isn’t that comforting? So this morning, I meditated on that statement, I mean I really analyzed that thing. And here’s what God showed me…
Our society has placed great value on education, rightfully so. But here’s the Catch-22 with pursuing a college education- you learn so much material that may prove itself irrelevant in the real world and, in most cases, it will cost you your first-born child. These cons are overshadowed by the possibilities of better employment, higher salaries and esteem. And there’s nothing wrong with those things, but a possibility isn’t a guarantee.
As a student of God’s university, you’re guaranteed the desires of your heart (see Psalm 37:4), this transcends employment opportunities, financial freedom and respect. It’s not a matter of probability, it’s a promise. Furthermore, unlike a college education, God’s university is free-of-charge. There are no tuition costs or hidden fees, because Jesus paid for it. At God’s university, your transcript doesn’t reflect your academic performance. GPA requirements, SAT scores, all of that is dismissed. God just wants to see your school spirit- Are you ready to learn his ways? Are you eager to fulfill his purpose? Is your heart committed to Him?
In college, I remember sitting in my Math class thinking, “I’ll NEVER use this formula again in my life!” And guess what? I’ve been out of school for quite some time and I haven’t encountered a need for the slope formula. But, as a student of God’s university, you never learn a lesson that’s not applicable to your every day life. Not only that, the lessons and knowledge you’re given will enhance your life, you will never be bored in class again! But don’t take my word for it, here’s a word from our Chancellor: “My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years and your life will be satisfying.” – Proverbs 3:1-2
And here’s the best part- there’s an open enrollment policy at God’s university. Yes, that means it’s never too late to become a student. There are no application deadlines, he doesn’t care about references… he knows your background, there are no discriminatory practices; everyone is welcomed.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8: 38
God bless you all,
