Meal of the Week: Don’t Trust Someone Else’s Appraisal, Know Your Own Worth

“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone else’s inability to see your worth.” -Unknown

In a world where everyone has an opinion about everything, it’s easy for your light to be dimmed by the opinions of others. But here’s the most important thing to remember- you are not limited by those opinions.

You can define your worth.

When luxury auto manufacturers release new vehicles, they attach a price tag to the vehicle that reflects how much it is worth. They don’t allow potential buyers to appraise the vehicle and name their own price. It’s simple, if you want the Maybach, you pay the Maybach price.

The same applies for your life. You cannot allow other people to appraise your worth, they’ll always discount your true value. We all are born with a treasure box filled with great talents, gifts and purpose. But no one will ever be able to see all the greatness inside of your treasure box until you reveal it.

There’s only one you. Embrace that.

Search through your treasure box, marvel about how fearfully and wonderfully made you are and don’t let anyone make you feel worthless. You, my friend, are truly one-of-a-kind. And the world needs you exactly as you are. Don’t become a carbon copy when our Creator designed you as His masterpiece.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” -Ephesians 2:10
