“Do not despise these small beginnings, for The Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” -Zechariah 4:10
Kenneth Frazier is the Chairman and CEO of Merck, a $44 billion dollar pharmaceutical company. I recently read an interview he did with Black Enterprise Magazine and learned that he started his professional career selling tadpoles and newts at a local aquarium. Why is this important? He did not despise the days of small beginnings. He didn’t wake up and assume the position of Chairman and CEO. He worked hard, he developed the mindset and set his focus on the end goal.
His success did not happen overnight
We all can learn from that. Success is a process. It takes time. Whatever you endeavor to accomplish, don’t give up just because it’s taking longer to manifest than you anticipated. Instead, enjoy the ride, watch as your life unfolds and celebrate all the little victories along the way. It will not be long before you, too, will be sharing your success story.
