When life throws you curveballs, which it surely will, you have a choice as to how you will react.
Let’s use baseball for an example. Now let me start by saying I don’t know a whole lot about baseball, but I know pitchers throw curveballs to impede the batter’s ability to hit a home run, right? Now when these curveballs are thrown, the batter has a choice to make. He can dodge the curveball and take a strike or he can swing at the ball in an attempt to hit a home run. In like fashion, we can make the same choices.
We can dodge the curveball, we can swing back or we can run. We can hide under fear’s bleachers or we can step up to the plate with confidence, courage and faith to hit that curveball out of the park.
What choice will you make this week?
When you realize that life’s curve balls are simply tests you strip them of their power. Just remember that every swing you take may not result in a home run, but over time you will gain greater precision. Your position has to be that no matter how many curveballs life throws my way, I am not going to give up. Hit or miss, I am not going to stop swinging. A home run, a victory, is on its way; it’s just a matter of time.
