One of my newest affirmations is, “Today is a day of celebration”. And it’s true, every day is a day of celebration. For starters, if you’re reading this, you’re alive. That’s worth celebrating. Next, think about all of the things you will achieve today. Think about the people you will engage with today, whether it’s friends, family or colleagues, you’re still adding value to their lives in some way. That’s worth celebrating.
Celebrations are not reserved for special occasions only. And here’s a lesson that I’ve finally grasped – it’s okay to celebrate your progress. If you’re telling yourself, “I’ll celebrate when…” You’re missing a great opportunity to honor your journey by celebrating your progress.
“Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead.”
It will take time for you to reach your ideal weight, for you to pay off your debt, for you to build the career you want, insert whatever your desire is, but look how far you’ve come. Doesn’t that count for something?
I believe we miss the beauty in the journey when we focus so much on the final destination. So inhale, then exhale the fear of failure and disappointment. Release it. It doesn’t belong to you.
Adopt the mindset that every day is a day of celebration and you will attract the joy and contentment needed to slow down and recognize that you’ve made way more progress than you’ve given yourself credit for.
So now what are you celebrating today?
